Messiah Sing

Monday, December 14, 2009 :: 7:30pm

Join us again this year for the West Village Chorale's annual audience participation Sing of Handel's Messiah in the historic and charming Church of St. Luke in the Fields (487 Hudson Street in New York City's Greenwich Village). This very popular Sing begins at 7:30pm, but you should plan to get there before 7:15.

Admission is $12, and $10 for seniors and students. Tickets are NOT available in advance, but can be purchased at the door. While the audience is usually quite large, there is plenty of seating in the church -- and singers will sit in their respective voice sections. If you don't wish to sing, just come and enjoy the glorious music!

Scores are provided, and refreshments are served at intermission. While time does not permit the singing of the entire Messiah, most of the favorite choruses are sung from all three parts of the work -- and yes, the Hallelujah Chorus is always sung! We look forward to sharing this wonderful masterpiece with you!

Greenwich Village Caroling Walk

Friday, December 18, 2009 :: 7:00pm

Join us as we continue a tradition of the Chorale and the neighborhood since 1974! Our Caroling Walk is a free family event for all. Carolers meet in the school cafeteria off the rear courtyard of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields (487 Hudson Street, one block south of Christopher Street in the West Village). We stroll from the church through the Dickens-like historic neighborhood, singing carols and seasonal songs led by members of the Chorale, and then stroll back to St. Luke's school cafeteria for refreshments.
